markUID's check-in system is at the heart of continuous data capture throughout the lifecycle of your physical objects. While the master record of a UID defines basic identification features, the check-in system enables objects to be enriched with dynamic, time-based data.

With just one simple API call, you can document comprehensive information:

• - Who processed or checked the object and when
• - Exact location with hierarchical accuracy (workstation to country level)
• - Environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity or pressure
• - Process-specific measured values and test results
• - User-defined metadata for your individual requirements

This data is cryptographically secured and linked to the UID, forming a tamper-proof chain of events. In addition, passive interactions such as scanning or querying a UID are automatically logged in a ledger system.

All check-in information is immediately available via our web application or via API and the entire life history of an object can be retrieved at any time. This makes physical objects digitally understandable.

The standardized API enables seamless check-ins along the entire supply chain by a wide variety of actors and systems. Automated scanners can capture objects directly on the production line, employees can perform manual check-ins via the web interface, and even end customers can become part of the documentation chain as part of registration or onboarding processes. The particular strength of the markUID check-in system lies in its cryptographic security. Each check-in event is sealed with a unique hash value that includes all previous events - comparable to a blockchain technology for your object data. This hash chain makes it technically impossible to manipulate past entries without this being immediately recognizable. Even minimal changes to a previous entry would invalidate the entire subsequent chain.
